Connect Bluesky

Steps
Create an app password
bsky.app → Settings → App Passwords → Add App Password. Name it "SIGNAL".
Paste it into SIGNAL
Connections → Bluesky → Connect with app password. Enter your handle and the app password.

If something goes wrong
These are the real failures, with the errors the platform actually shows. Most of them point somewhere other than the actual cause.
- Authentication fails.
- Your main account password was used instead of a generated app password. Only app passwords work here — which is also why this is safe: it can be revoked without changing your real password.
Console layouts change. These steps were checked in July 2026 — if a screen does not match, the developer console’s own documentation is the authority.
