Steps
Create the app
developers.pinterest.com/apps → Create app. Describe what it does in a sentence.
Set the redirect URI
App settings → Redirect URIs. Paste the one SIGNAL gives you.
Copy the credentials
App ID and App secret are on the same page.

Permissions to request
Read-only. None of these let anything post on your behalf — if a console offers you publishing permissions, you can leave them off.

If something goes wrong
These are the real failures, with the errors the platform actually shows. Most of them point somewhere other than the actual cause.
- Scopes are rejected.
- The account is still Personal. Pinterest analytics scopes require a Business account.
